I was moody all day yesterday. I got absolutely nothing done for the trip.
Today? My mind is absolutely racing…
I finally heard back from the data recovery team this morning, they recovered my data. I’m grateful, and also paranoid about how much money it cost me to get it back.
I also tested something the other night that I think has the ability to throw a wrench into this plan. I was uncomfortable during the night (which doesn’t usually happen) and I decided to get out the new foam folding bed that I bought for the trip. I knew it wasn’t great foam, so I was prepared for that. I guess some part of me forgot that I haven’t slept in a bed that wasn’t adjustable in over 2 years? I was absolutely miserable, rearranging every 10 minutes and flailing my arms and legs all over the place.
That is definitely not going to work.
So I can’t sleep in the teardrop, it’s alright, I was already making a backup plan in case that couldn’t happen. I can definitely set up my hammock to sleep in. I’ve also got two options there, I can hang it between two trees obviously, or I can set it up on the stand IN my screened in canopy. If I hang it in the trees, I can run a ridgeline and tarp it for rain/privacy. If I set it up in my canopy, I can feel secure from any wandering animals in the night, and I know a way to provide a little bit of privacy with a velcro sheet idea from Laura. This seems like a very feasible plan. I know hammock camping outside is different than indoors, so I would need some sort of pad for sleeping on, or an underquilt to keep me warm. I’ve actually already tried the foam bed in the hammock, and it’s super comfy, just too large. My thought is that i can cut that foam to fit better and recover it, that way I don’t have to buy another thing.
As I’m thinking about all of this, and thinking about how much money it cost me to retrieve that data…I’m wondering what the point of the teardrop is if I can’t sleep in it. I haven’t done hardly anything to the inside, and I’m scared to. Maybe I can flip and get more money for it, hell maybe even twice what I paid for it. But then I’m stuck with only my car to bring things. Obviously I need to keep the camper, even if I can’t sleep in it, I’m going to need to fill it with all my stuff.
Okay, well I guess that’s solved.
I just made the plan to go pick up my car, and buy a couple things from marketplace!
I found the pop up changing/shower/bathroom tent AND I found something that I think will help me long into the future, should it last that long:
Also going to pick up the tools from Matt, and stopping at Nirvana before trying to head out to the camper. Whew, whirlwind day!
